Treatment for Anxiety

Anxiety can feel like a constant hum in the background—or like a wave that crashes without warning. At Serene Heart Therapy, we offer a calm, supportive space to explore your experience with anxiety without judgment or pressure. You’ll be met with warmth, not analysis; empathy, not quick fixes. At times, we forget anxiety is meant to protect us. Lets work together in grounding ourselves.

CBT and Exposure & Response Prevention for OCD
In treating Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD), I use a combination of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), which is considered the gold-standard approach.

CBT helps clients understand how intrusive thoughts, fears, and rituals are maintained by unhelpful thinking patterns. Together, we work on identifying and challenging these patterns, so they feel less overwhelming and controlling.

ERP is a specialized form of CBT that gradually and safely exposes clients to their fears or triggers while supporting them in resisting compulsive behaviors. Over time, this process reduces anxiety, increases tolerance of uncertainty, and breaks the cycle of obsessions and compulsions.

My goal is to create a supportive and collaborative space where clients can face their fears step by step, regain confidence, and move toward living with greater freedom and peace of mind.

How ERP Works:

In therapy, we work together to:

  • Identify your obsessions and compulsions

  • Understand your OCD cycle

  • We will create a personalized exposure plan (ladder)

  • Practice facing fears in a gradual, supported way

  • Build confidence in tolerating uncertainty

You don’t have to "just calm down." You deserve real support, effective tools, and a therapist who sees your whole self—not just your symptoms.

Let’s slow down together, and begin where you are.

Remember Anxiety is suppose to be a helpful healthy emotion. Yes, really! Lets talk about that.
